It Matters was an integrated graphic design project that involved leaving a lasting legacy at California State University Long Beach. The ten of us joined together to create a campaign that raised awareness and reduced the stigma of depression. The first step in making depression an acceptable topic is to simply talk about it, and so we created a logo incorporating a speech bubble. 

 

The first phase of our campaign involved creating three motivational cards with the instruction to pass them on to others. The second phase included a banner covered in cards with statements of what cause people depression; classmates would walk up to the banner and pull off a topic that they related to in turn revealing an infographic about depression underneath. These cards then pointed students to campus mental health resources along with our tumblr page where they could post anonymously about their personal struggles.
